Michael Verderosa is among the top 1% highest producing real estate agents in New Orleans and the nation. In his first year alone, he made history as the only residential agent in Latter & Blum’s 101-year legacy to rank among the company’s Top 10 highest-producing agents. Since then, he’s closed over 600 real estate transactions, representing more than $160 million in sales — with 92% of that business driven by repeat clients and referrals.

Michael is consistently recognized as the #1 top-producing individual agent at the Latter & Blum / Compass Historic Districts Office and has led the market in Algiers and the Westbank for over a decade. His deep knowledge of New Orleans architecture and neighborhoods has earned him national and local recognition, including features on HBO, Discovery+, Magnolia Network, FOX 8 News, the New Orleans Times-Picayune, and even the New York Times.

He holds a Master’s in Preservation Studies from Tulane, where he graduated with the program’s first-ever 4.0 GPA, and he’s completed post-graduate work in Real Estate Investment and Development at Harvard.


A Passion for Preservation

Before launching his real estate career, Michael led a team of preservation and environmental consultants for FEMA’s post-Katrina recovery efforts, overseeing the historic review of more than 50,000 Louisiana properties. He later served as National Lead for Historic Preservation with the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense, managing a team of over 300 specialists nationwide.

Today, Michael brings that same precision and reverence for place to his work in real estate — whether helping clients buy or sell historic homes, or guiding the thoughtful development and adaptive reuse of properties across Greater New Orleans.


Community-Driven, Bestbank Proud

A proud longtime resident of Algiers Point, Michael has spent more than two decades in civic leadership. His service includes roles with the Algiers Point Association, Old Algiers Main Street, Confetti Kids, and the Algiers Neighborhood Presidents Council. He has also represented District C on the Neighborhood Conservation District Committee, supported preservation nonprofits like Friends of the Ferry and Friends of the Algiers Courthouse, and helped lead local neighborhood organizing through Pointe Algerines Unite.

Michael is an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he volunteers on the Board of Stewards, serves as an usher and adult acolyte, and contributes to community outreach through Trinity Loaves and Fishes.


The Heart Behind Historic 504

Michael is not only a real estate leader — he’s a hands-on preservationist. He lives in and lovingly restored a City of New Orleans Historic Landmark, known as Blue Skies Over Old Algiers, which he has furnished with period-appropriate antiques and shared with a rotating cast of rescue dogs (all named after former U.S. Presidents and First Ladies).
